Standard Feature Descriptions

Metal Stamping Presses

  • SAFE AND RELIABLE
The CIECO PPC 1100R Press Control meets or exceeds ANSI B11.1, B11.16 (MPIF#47), B11.19, OSHA 1910.217 and CSA Z142.02 regulations including control reliability.  All containined in a 12 x 12 x 6 enclosure, the self-checking dual logic controllers constantly check each other for proper operation and component failure.  Dual power supplies and dual relays provide for even more safety.  The actual relay contacts switching the solenoid valves are monitored to confirm proper operation.  If the controllers or relays do not agree, press initiation is inhibited. The systems are designed so that a single fault in any of its parts does not lead to the loss of safety function.
A dedicated control means safety features cannnot be re-programmed or jumped out.

Operator interface with plain English messages.

/\ top

Speed Compensated Top Stop Limit.

  • Eliminates time-consuming adjustments of the Top Stop limit by automatically adjusting for changes in stroking speed.
/\ top

Two Programmable Limit Switch Outputs.

  • These eliminate the use of a rotary cam limit switch and provides easy set up of auto-up and top stop press functions.

/\ top

One Programmable Die Protection Input.

  • Designed to monitor part out or a cyclical event.
/\ top

Real Brake Stop Time Monitor

  • Real Brake Stop Time is displayed every time the press stops.  If brake stopping exceeds the preset maximum, the brake monitor will disable press initiation. The display will alert the operator with a fault message.  The control has a programmable 90-degree brake stop time test, which will automatically stop the press at the worst down stroke position.

/\ top

Micro-Inch Input.

  • Micro-Inch Input provides for minute adjustments of the slide by sending a timed pulse to the solenoid valves when initiated by the two hand palm buttons. This type of slide movement makes setup easier, especially on high-speed presses or those with a short stroke.

/\ top

Total Hits Counter.

  • This count will count the total number of hits on the press and can be used as a press total hits counter or a shift stroke counter.

/\ top

Parts Counter with Batch Count.

  • Programmed presets will stop the press at the Top Stop when the preset count has been reached. This helps with production tracking and reduces scrap.

/\ top

Self Diagnostics.

  • Easy-to-understand messages communicate the status of the control. If more information is needed, the microprocessor control has status led's of the press control inputs.

/\ top

Interrupted Stroke Mode w/Indicator.

  • Provides a quick and easy way to resume production when an interrupted stroke occurs. When the press is stopped before completion of a normal stroke, the red indicator light will illuminate and the mode will automatically changed to Inch mode. The Message Center will display the cause of the interrupted stroke eliminating any guesswork. After the press has been brought to the top position, the PPC1100R automatically returns to the original operating mode. Production is resumed quickly and easily.

/\ top

Stroke and Position Display.

  • Displays both at the same time.
/\ top

PLC Interface

  • Fault codes can be output to plc.
/\ top

Press Control/Operator Station in One.

  • Some operations find it convenient to mount the control enclosure on a “T” stand with two palm buttons on the side of the enclosure for use as an operator station.

/\ top

Custom Fault Messages.

  • Custom messages are available for faults.  Call factory for info.
/\ top

Multi Station Control.

  • Up to four operators can safely run the press.
/\ top

Motor Controls/Press Control in One.

  • We can provide the press and motor controls all in one enclosure, making it convenient to locate the controls on the side of the press.
/\ top

Automatic Single Stroke Mode.

  • This mode will allow an external device to initiate the single stroke of the press. Proper guarding in accordance with OSHA 1910.217 must be in place to operate safely.

/\ top

Swiftrip Mode.

  • The SwifTrip mode allows the operator to “trip” the press with a single button.  Light curtains must be used in this mode for point of operation guarding.  A touch button is convenient location on the safe side of the light curtain.  This allows the operator to easily touch the button as he is removing his hand from the die area.  The press will make one stroke and top stop, allowing the operator to remove a part and insert another before he starts the cycle again. This mode will increase production and maintaining a high degree of safety for the operator.

/\ top

Continuous On Demand.

  • This mode is usually used when the press is faster then the feed and must be stopped momentarily to allow the feed to "catch up" and then restarted.  Proper guarding in accordance with OSHA 1910.217 must be in place to operate safely.

/\ top

Additional Programmable Limit Switches.

  • Up to two programmable limit switches can be added for use on auxiliary equipment.
